I learned the hard way that even when you use a free resource, it’s imperative to save the documentation that states so. Fraudulent copyright infringement trolls are replacing or supplementing patent trolls.
Especially true with Wikipedia Commons. Save the rights page as a PDF and archive it in support of your use. You may not need it 999,999 times out of a million, but…
Besides that, thanks for such a great resource. Bookmarking every single one!
Thank you for helping us getting free from the AI jaggernaut that wants to write like us and paint like us but it is a total sloppy, full of BS artist 🤣🎨
This is brilliant, Jordan, and I can't agree enough with your view on this! I've been sourcing images for my thumbnails through Unsplash since starting my Substack. It is *so* easy to find free-to-use images.
I firmly believe that if writers are so opinionated about and horrified by the use of AI in writing, we should carry that rage over to the use of AI in other art forms!
I don't know who you are, but the essays you put together on these resources have been really lovely and useful, even in simply perusing the images like one would for physical library. Thank you for this resource.
